I remember the Ryan hate well and wonder how Phil feels for him these days. Either way, I loved most of RA's music strictly do to with Phil getting me into it...While this show definitely seemed to be a warmup and not as dynamic as some of the others to come, specifically the next two nights. Highlights, the New, York New York intro, a lot of the Cardinals era Ryan work which Phil simply crushed, and most everything until the back half of the show really. Barry Sless really stepped out this run and we are all blessed to have him as an integral part of the true GD Family of musicians. He is playing with Bobby now and hopefully one last run with Phil is in the works, Listen to his tone on things like Playing jam and Help Slip. He is a BIG DAWG, on the Haynes and Herring and dare I say Trey level. I just felt the need to give this show and recording a little more love because 1-2 star reviewers are not worthy of even getting taken seriously. Love all you Phil Phreaks. Holler at me unbrokenchain79@yahoo.com if you wanna trade, chat, need Pure psychedlics, organic VT cannabis or just someone to talk to, obviously free. You will have a hard time finding a bigger Lesh Apologist, and that my friend is a good thing. No Grateful Dead without he and Jerry doing that sandworm in heat type thing, so where tf would we be?

I thought the show was unique and with great energy. No More Do I is always a treat especially since he doesn't play it to often anymore. Great teases throughout. Phil Delivered!!! Don't believe the naysayers, give the show a chance. But hey don't take my word for it.

Hey loser, the belching you're refering to is called Phils bass. And it sounds pretty darn good in this recording, considering the tapers were stuck in the back right corner of the Beacon. You ever been there? What's your reference point, a boombox? I'm sure Phils notes are overwhelming your crappy little playback! And you accuse me of belching in my mics??? Yikes!!!

First I cant beleave none of you have noticed that cold roses and West LA Fadeaway are named the wrong thing on the stream.
Second whats with all the hostility. This all started in the 80s when the dead started to be not as good as they use to be due to poor lifestyles and what have you. And at the same time the fans started bickering back and forth. Its totaly bullshit. We all know whats a good show and whats not. and thats totaly a personal thing. some people like things that other people dont. The music isnt static and ether is the opinions on the muisc. So where does this get us. aruging about was it a good show or not. We need to not take any of this for granted. I thought that Jerrys passing would have made people realize this. Phils old and he has alot of health problems hes not going to be around forever. Above the doors of Winterland was words that rings true to this day.
"They arnt the best at what they do, But there the only people who do what they do."
The worst Phil day is still a pretty good god damn day.
Joan really adds alot to the music. She adds that sexxyness to the music. Shes really an incredibal singer. Barry sless is the man. Hes really turned up in the mix when I've seen him he wasnt as loud as I would have liked. Rob is almost flawless as usual. Jeff is a real good drummer. But Phil has been working with Molo for a long time now. They really know each other well. So when Phil has John Molo with him they are usualy in the pocket. He really helps Phil out alot. Being a bassist myself I know the importaints of not only having a good drummer but a drummer who you can communicate with threw music.
And come on now whats with the hating on people who review shows every day. This is the 3rd phil show I've listened to today and I listened to a Grateful dead 69' Before that I've been listening to music alone for coming up on 7 hours now. You cant hate for loving something that you yourself love.
Peace, Love and Music ya all!

this show is definitly pretty mediocre, especially compared to the other shows on the run. third night was really good. but what I don't understand is why you people are getting so hostile...it's a show for christ's sake, lighten up.

Evidently you don't remember the 90's!!! The standards of the Grateful Dead had been sliding for years and 95 was the worst. Listen to RFK that year and you'll hear Bruce Hornsby clearly in the mix and that's about it!!! If you listen to nearly any early to mid seventy's show you'll not be talking of the high standards the Dead had in the 90's, it was nonexistent!! After you do a little research come on back and eat a little crow because this music is fresh and tended to with loving care by PHIL and his Friends!!! Go blow smoke up someone elses ASS!!!!!!!!

A shambles of a show
the standard of playing and quality of singing does not warrent a download - a disgrace to what the Dead stand for
Joan Osbourne just does nothing to the songs at all - Joan, sing them with some enthusiasm or GET OFF THE BUS!!!!!
The following evening set 2 with Warren is much better - Warren brings out the best in Barry Sless - he cant cut it alone - he aint got the improvs.
Sounds as if it was recorded during a bomb attack in Baghdad - I know about that being in neighbouring Kuwait.
Dont download it - wait until a better version in terms of sound quality comes along -
someone close to the mikes belches through most of the songs - goodness knows who that is - aint nayone picked up on that yet - should cut and paste these files and add an encore 'belch rap'

I don't have an agenda. I just think it was a good show. I won't be signing in with different accounts and trying to boost the star rating. I was also there, and I didn't see anybody leaving early.

Not as hot as the amazing 12th show with Trey, but a very solid show, and recording - well worth a listen
the idea that "everybody didn't like this show" is preposterous - I was there, the Beacon was rocking and the band was hot
if a few people decide to close their minds to the Ryan Adams songs, that's there problem - they were and continue to be very well executed

The sound quality of this tape is OK. Vocals are distant and kinda boomy in places. Instruments are pretty clear.
Thanks, though, to the taper and everyone else involved in transferring this and getting it uploaded!

Help on the Way>Slipknot
Franklin's Tower - Sipe was looking @ Phil WAY too much for cues, I want my Molo.

I was in 3rd row, and I didn't see anyone leaving early, and my crowd loved it! This was a really hot show and this recording proves it... highlights for me being Love the One You're With (Phil solo!), After Midnight(really jammy!), the old style/staccato Good Lovin', and the crankin' Help (screaming Barry lead). Nice, full aud, too... Phil comes through loud clear, and deep. (Sound gets a lot fuller mid-first set.)
**why the vendetta against this fine show, by one or two reviewers? Did the taper pee in your baby bottle?

I was in the front row for this and this is a 3 tops. It took forever for them to get going and people started leaving it was that weak. Anyone that was there will tell you the same thing. I don't mean to be harsh but Joan Osborne has no business being up there - The other guys were completely out of synch most notably Phil.
Rob Barraco carried it as he always does - He gets a 5 for that.
*** Bzl take a look at how many shows on this site I have listened to 375 making me far and away the most prodigious reviewer. You have 1/10 that - I was with 8 people and 3 of them left which I have not seen since 1980. THIS WAS NOT A GOOD SHOW AND EVERYONE SHARED THE SAME VIEW hek, they did not really get going until Bird Song and After Midnight was a disaster... Why are you going to the mat on this show it was drek - A derivative of the last Beacon show with Warren I also went to....

Subject: Smokin!
Aside from the average sound quality, this is a smokin' show. Baracco is the man on keys...and Barry Sless is just an amazing guitar and pedal steel player. I saw him in Norman, OK at the Red Dirt Cafe several years back with DNB when they were doing the acoustic thing. He blew me away...such a tasteful player. His solo here on Slipknot is everything I love about his playing. If you can get past the thin sound, then this show is a 5.
Note the "Throwing Stones" tease in the middle of New York New York starting at about 6.30 into the song until about 7.45 when it starts to fizzle off. So f-ing cool!

Up-tempo show, band sounds good, really like the guitars here, and I also like what Joan brings to her songs. She adds different colors, and I for one will not long miss Chris Robinson.
That said, the sound is average, listenable certainly, but rates at 3 stars IMHO.
